What does it mean to be a sovereign speaker?
It means you own your voice.
Many students subconsciously stop themselves from achieving real progress because they are afraid of making mistakes.
The Sovereign Study Method is designed to change how you think about learning, help you break through fear, and instantly boost your confidence from day one.
In my classroom, we prioritize Proficiency over Perfection.
FLUENCY is an imaginary goal. It is an abstract, constantly moving goalpost that makes people feel paralyzed, overwhelmed and anxious. PROFICIENCY is real, active, measurable and human. We make mistakes in our native languages every single day, so why do we expect ourselves to be flawless in a second or third language?!
When you work with me, I ask you to shift your learning mindset in 2 important ways:

Watch your thoughts and your words. Be mindful of the language you use to describe your language skills and learning journey.

❌ Saying: I can't speak English, or I’m bad/no good at English is NOT ALLOWED HERE. When we make language limitations a permanent description of our identity, instead of a temporary condition that can (and will) change for the better, we subconsciously self-sabotage.

✅ INSTEAD think and say this: I don’t feel confident in my English (yet). I want to improve my English. I have challenges (or difficulty) speaking/reading/writing in English.

Remember the meme. Keep the But Did You Die? meme, featured above, in mind whenever you make a mistake OR whenever the FEAR of making a mistake prevents you from real-world practice. For example:

Did you use the wrong verb tense? Yes, maybe. But did you die? No!

Did you forget a specific word? Yes, maybe. But did you die? No!
-
Did the other person understand what you meant anyway? Most likely, Yes!
-
And most importantly: YOU DIDN'T DIE! 😜😅😏

Mistakes are not failures; they are just proof that you are trying. They are a natural, necessary part of the language learning journey. When a mistake happens in our lessons, we laugh, we adjust, we learn the correct form, and we keep moving forward. You own your voice, flaws and all.
